3 Ways We Support Our Clients Beyond Project Management

The FGX Group is primarily known for our project management service. We’re glad we’ve made such an impact in that field, and we’re always happy that our clients speak so highly of our project management skills. However, we do a lot more than just that. We wanted to take the time to walk through some of the other services we offer, services we’re just as proud of.

  1. Bank Inspections
    Since 2015, we’ve been performing on-site construction inspections for various lenders. Whenever a project is financed via a small business loan, a third-party inspection firm is required to conduct a monthly progress check at the project site once construction begins.

    This monthly inspection is used to confirm the contractor has billed the client accurately for the work completed at the project site. After our inspection, we complete a report and submit it to the lender. Because we’re an unbiased third party, this report holds a lot of weight and grants the lender the confidence to release funds to the contractor. (Or not, in some cases!)
  2. Cost Estimating
    Before any shovels go in the ground, every client needs to know: how much is this going to cost? It’s critical in any project’s infancy to provide pricing during the design phase to ensure the construction budget is on track down the road. Budgeting issues can snowball, leading to construction delays, among other things.

    We have more than 25 years of experience in this field, and also keep track of current cost trends with labor and material pricing. In addition to high-level budgets, we are also adept at the nitty-gritty work of conceptual, schematic, design-development, and construction-documentation budgeting.   3. Property Condition Assessments
    Commercial property and building inspections are important for clients seeking to know the condition of a property they may be purchasing, leasing, financing, or simply maintaining, and these inspections are a natural extension of the services we offer. A typical assessment includes an evaluation of everything from landscaping and paving, to fire alarms and foundations. Once complete, we compile and deliver a written report including areas of concern, recommendations for repairs or further inspections, projected costs of future capital projects, and compliance surveys. From my perspective, here is what The FGX Group did that helped us achieve a successful build out of our new office location: Their contract spelled out all of the responsibilities that they would own, and they carefully broke down all of the job functions and steps with milestones; they also made it clear what were their vs. our tasks; they outlined the project timeline and costs and lived by them; they were 100% successful as a project manager because they kept us on track and had excellent communication and follow-up skills; they owned a number of key tasks around permitting and working with the local town/city that we could not have known about or handled – and they were done successfully; and they escalated issues when appropriate and prepared us in advance of issues, so that when they came up, we could quickly resolve.
