Spring Update From The FGX Group

The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and The FGX Group is busier than ever! Read on for news about a thrilling activity with Outward Bound, our newest service offering, and a key project we’ve been working on with a North American company that is changing the way investors and operators make decisions.

Repelling With Outward Bound

On May 17, I will be nervously repelling down 29 stories at Two Commerce Square in Philadelphia as a member of team CoreNET. That’s right, I’m taking part in Outward Bound’s “Building Adventure,” one of its annual fundraising events. Philadelphia Outward Bound School (POBS) provides scholarship and subsidy for underserved youth from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware to participate in its outdoor experiential education programming. More than 60 percent of POBS’ participants are from low-income families and 75 percent are Philadelphia residents. With a focus on public and charter school students throughout Philadelphia, POBS encourages underserved and at-risk youth to discover their untapped potential, strength of character, ability to lead, and a desire to serves others and their community.

Announcing Cost Estimating Services

We are pleased to announce that in addition to providing project management services for various commercial real estate industries, we will be adding cost estimating services for design professionals, developers, and owners to our portfolio.

From establishing conceptual budgeting through quantity takeoffs at construction documentation, The FGX Group can assist clients at any phase of the design process. With our vast array of estimating and project management experience in both the construction and development industries for the past 30 years, officially providing estimating services is a natural transition for our team.

Renovating in Conshohocken

At the start of 2019, The FGX Group was hired to work with RS Energy Group (RSEG), which provides data-driven energy intelligence to support and strengthen companies operating, servicing, and investing in oil and gas markets, on a corporate renovation project.

Headquartered in Calgary, Canada, RSEG has additional offices in New York, Houston, and Conshohocken. The FGX Group is working with the company to expand its existing space in Conshohocken, located at 300 Conshohocken State Road, to support its growth in the Philadelphia market.

The project is currently underway (the photos above are “before” shots), and we’ll be excited to share the results in the coming months.

From my perspective, here is what The FGX Group did that helped us achieve a successful build out of our new office location: Their contract spelled out all of the responsibilities that they would own, and they carefully broke down all of the job functions and steps with milestones; they also made it clear what were their vs. our tasks; they outlined the project timeline and costs and lived by them; they were 100% successful as a project manager because they kept us on track and had excellent communication and follow-up skills; they owned a number of key tasks around permitting and working with the local town/city that we could not have known about or handled – and they were done successfully; and they escalated issues when appropriate and prepared us in advance of issues, so that when they came up, we could quickly resolve.

The results were excellent – the office is beautiful, and it has helped us grow our business!
